Bright Archer, the lovely and striking moniker for pianist/singer-songwriter Johanna Kunin, releases her sophomore record, Hidden Systems.

Bright Archer, the lovely and striking moniker for pianist/singer-songwriter Johanna Kunin, releases her sophomore record, Hidden Systems. With her luxuriant vocals and stirring piano lines, Portland, Oregon’s (via Minneapolis and Seattle) busiest musician (Loch Lomond, AgesandAges, Velella Velella) proves she somehow still had time on her hands to create yet another dreamy album, full of the hushed, melodic chamber-pop she championed on her first effort Clouds Electric in 2006.

Limited to 200 copies.Kit n C.l.a.w.s. is a project by two experienced musicians in the fields of dance and psychedelic music. Teaming up was probably one of the better ideas they had for a long time as the music this duo serves us is simply amazing. Deep Trance indulging moody house tracks with acid influences, still this acid never becomes industrial as techno can be but stays on the psychedelic side of things. Slow trippy stuff to dance and dream away on. Headmusic for the dancefloor!
Limited vinyl edition of 522 copies handstamped and numbered.Matt Sheehy considers his 1999 arrival in Portland to be his true artistic genesis. He starts to play there different styles with different musicians. On the album Tigerphobia he is joined by a host of Portland's finest musicians. It's a beautiful album, on which every tune is spectacularly good; the songwriting is potent, emotional, poetic, and engaging, with catchy melodies and inventive arrangements. You'll find yourself sharing it with friends like a joyful secret, or singing it out loud in the car, or putting a song on a mixtape for someone to whom you need to say something important but can't quite put it into words. Sheehy has done the work of processing all the difficult emotions, and the acoustic-based songs on Tigerphobia are the wholly pleasurable result.
This is a celebration of the body on every level. To free the body is to free the mind and this is the perfect soundtrack for getting you on the way. From hi-nrg influenced synth-pop to new school cold wave and from harsh body beats to trance indulging spacious elektro. You are invited to the party but only if you can say goodbye to prudence.
